Melissa - RECE

My name is Melissa. I am a Registered Early Childhood Educator and graduated from Algonquin in 2009. I began working at Children’s Castle Daycare, in the Intermediate Room in June of 2009. I have also worked in the Toddler, Junior, Kindergarten, and School Age programs.

During my time here, I have formed a bond with numerous children of all ages. I enjoy every age group, but I really enjoy being able to connect with children ages three and up. My ultimate goal as a caretaker is to instill good values and to provide the children with various objects and lessons to allow them to learn through their play, and prepare them for their journey into kindergarten.

Berta RECE

Hello! My name is Berta. I attended Algonquin College and graduated in 2011 from the Early Childhood Education Program. I have lots of experience being around children ever since I was young, as my mother has had and owned her
home daycare services, I also have two beautiful children of my own. I have worked with children in all age groups, but I enjoy working with Infants and Toddlers the most
I’ve been a registered ECE at Children’s Castle daycare since June 10, 2014.

In 2016 I had my second child, after my Mat leave I came back for a year and then took two years off to spend time with my children. I have now recently returned and I am thrilled to meet all your children in the Intermediate class. I enjoy coming to work and teaching your children and getting to know their individual personalities.

Heather

My name is Heather and I have been working at Children’s Castle Daycare since June of 2008.

I have spent time working with each of the age groups we have at the center, and I find I enjoy working with the school age the best. There is something about this age group that is very refreshing for the mind. They teach me to slow down and see the world from a perspective other than my own. They are truly becoming young adults and seeing how they deal with the day to day is fascinating. It keeps me young! I am currently working in the kitchen, making all kinds of yummy snacks and lunches!

In the future, I would like to go back to school to get a degree that allows me to work towards helping children with mental health issues.

If you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to approach me at any time.

Kelly - RECE

Hello, my name is Kelly. I did my first placement for my ECE at Children’s Castle Daycare in the toddler room back in 2002. I started working with preschoolers full time at Children’s Castle Daycare in September 2004, after graduating the previous May from Algonquin College. During my time with the preschoolers, I often spent many days helping in the other classes as needed. I left Children’s Castle in June 2005 to work in preschool programs for the City of Ottawa. I expanded past preschool and gained experience working with children ages 2-16 in many different environments. I returned to Children’s Castle Daycare in February of 2007 and began working as the Program Supervisor that April.

Every age group has it’s pro’s and con’s so it is hard to pick just one I enjoy working with the most. My goal in this field is to nurture, educate every child in my care and to give them the best start in their life’s endeavors

Ashley - RECE

My name is Ashley and I have been working at Children’s Castle Daycare as an RECE since January 2012. I was an RECE in the Intermediate room until I had my daughter in January of 2016.

I returned from maternity leave, the end of January 2017, to the toddler room as the RECE. I am excited to start this new adventure with this new class. I expect that this new experience will be amazing in every way possible.

I am excited to watch the toddlers explore their environment and help them learn new things each and every day. Every child is unique and they all learn in different ways. I want to take a little of my experiences from the preschool room and some of my experiences of being a new mom and bring it together in my new class.

Being a new mom has opened my eyes even more, as it has given me a new perspective on the way children develop and learn. I want to bring all these new experiences with me and help each child succeed in their own time. As of Sept 2017 I started working in the office, it's a new experience and I get to help each class.

I look forward to coming to work every day as well as meeting you and your family.

Tammy

Hello my name is Tammy Chapman, I started working at Children’s Castle Daycare in January 2018 in the Toddler room. I have been working with children for many years and have always loved the field.

I first started off as a babysitter when I was 12, then as a stay at home mom which then I ran a home daycare while I raised my children.
I love reading and singing to your children. They love singing along and learning all the new songs.
Being a daycare provider is my dream job. I get to see their faces light up when they have accomplished a new skill and get to show me what they have learnt. It's a joy to see them smile with pride at being able to do their new task.
I look forward to working and learning with your children.

Children's Castle Daycare

Hello, my name is Angela,
I started at Children’s Castle Daycare May 2023 in the Toddler Room. I am a mom of 5 daughters of my own.
The age group I get the most enjoyment is with the Toddlers because I get to see the enjoyment in their eyes when they are learning something new. I love working with all age groups, but the Toddlers is my go-to age group to work with. I love being able to come to work everyday and see the joyful smiles on the children’s faces.
My future goal is to go back one day to school to get my Early Childhood Education Certificate. Since I love working with children, I want to be able to further my learning in new ways to help them learn.
If you have any questions just let me know 😊

Uttara

Hello, my name is Uttara.

In 2015, I did my co-op placement at Children’s Castle Daycare, with all the different age groups. In September 2015, I became a supply teacher at the centre.  I started my career as an ECE Assistant teacher for Junior room in June of 2016.

Before starting at Children’s Castle Daycare, I had experience in creating developmentally appropriate curriculum for pre-school and kindergarten children.  I look forward to growing that experience here and I believe every child is unique and he or she needs individual attention for his or her potential development.  I will be sure to do my best for the children.

Please do not hesitate to ask me any questions regarding your child or our program.

Sheryn

Hello my name is Sheryn Fares. I started working at Children’s Castle Daycare in  August 2019.
My goal is to build trust with my new little students and make sure they feel safe and enjoy their time at daycare. I really enjoy being around kids and helping them grow and build self-confidence and independence.

It is very important to teach them the core skills that prepare them for kindergarten and beyond. This will help them adapt to new environments, and build healthy relationships with others. If you see me around, please do not hesitate to ask me about your child. I’ll be more than willing to answer any doubts or questions
