Hello! My name is Melissa. I graduated from the Early Childhood Education program from Algonquin College in 2014. I am CPR/First Aid certified and I am also registered with the college of ECEs, making me an RECE.
I started working in the Senior room at Children’s Castle Daycare in June of 2014. Preschoolers are my favourite age group to work with so far because they are really developing their observation skills and are very curious and eager to explore and to learn more about how things work in the world around them. My goal as a teacher is to provide flexible activities for the children that are open ended and fun. I intend to base my activities on the developmental abilities and interests of all the children in my room.
I look forward to meeting each of you and working with your children.
My name is Heather and I have been working at Children’s Castle Daycare since June of 2008.
I have spent time working with each of the age groups we have at the center, and I find I enjoy working with the school age the best. There is something about this age group that is very refreshing for the mind. They teach me to slow down and see the world from a perspective other than my own. They are truly becoming young adults and seeing how they deal with the day to day is fascinating. It keeps me young! I am currently working in the kitchen, making all kinds of yummy snacks and lunches!
In the future, I would like to go back to school to get a degree that allows me to work towards helping children with mental health issues.
If you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to approach me at any time.
Hello! My name is Kayla. I have been working at Children's Castle Daycare since January 2015. I graduated from the ECE program at Algonquin in June of 2015. I have supplied in all of the classrooms, but my favourite age group to work with is School Age. I like this age group because I get the chance to teach them new things and they teach me things about what interests them that i never knew before.
My short term goal is to work with the Ottawa catholic School Board.
If you have any questions about your child, please do not hesitate to ask me!
My name is Ashley and I have been working at Children’s Castle Daycare as an RECE since January 2012. I was an RECE in the Intermediate room until I had my daughter in January of 2016.
I returned from maternity leave, the end of January 2017, to the toddler room as the RECE. I am excited to start this new adventure with this new class. I expect that this new experience will be amazing in every way possible.
I am excited to watch the toddlers explore their environment and help them learn new things each and every day. Every child is unique and they all learn in different ways. I want to take a little of my experiences from the preschool room and some of my experiences of being a new mom and bring it together in my new class.
Being a new mom has opened my eyes even more, as it has given me a new perspective on the way children develop and learn. I want to bring all these new experiences with me and help each child succeed in their own time. As of Sept 2017 I started working in the office, it's a new experience and I get to help each class.
I look forward to coming to work every day as well as meeting you and your family.
Hello, my name is Uttara.
In 2015, I did my co-op placement at Children’s Castle Daycare, with all the different age groups. In September 2015, I became a supply teacher at the centre. I started my career as an ECE Assistant teacher for Junior room in June of 2016.
Before starting at Children’s Castle Daycare, I had experience in creating developmentally appropriate curriculum for pre-school and kindergarten children. I look forward to growing that experience here and I believe every child is unique and he or she needs individual attention for his or her potential development. I will be sure to do my best for the children.
Please do not hesitate to ask me any questions regarding your child or our program.
Hello, my name is Kelly. I did my first placement for my ECE at Children’s Castle Daycare in the toddler room back in 2002. I started working with preschoolers full time at Children’s Castle Daycare in September 2004, after graduating the previous May from Algonquin College. During my time with the preschoolers, I often spent many days helping in the other classes as needed. I left Children’s Castle in June 2005 to work in preschool programs for the City of Ottawa. I expanded past preschool and gained experience working with children ages 2-16 in many different environments. I returned to Children’s Castle Daycare in February of 2007 and began working as the Program Supervisor that April.
Every age group has it’s pro’s and con’s so it is hard to pick just one I enjoy working with the most. My goal in this field is to nurture, educate every child in my care and to give them the best start in their life’s endeavors.
Hello my name is Tammy Chapman, I started working at Children’s Castle Daycare in January 2018 in the Toddler room. I have been working with children for many years and have always loved the field.
I first started off as a babysitter when I was 12, then as a stay at home mom which then I ran a home daycare while I raised my children.
I love reading and singing to your children. They love singing along and learning all the new songs.
Being a daycare provider is my dream job. I get to see their faces light up when they have accomplished a new skill and get to show me what they have learnt. It's a joy to see them smile with pride at being able to do their new task.
I look forward to working and learning with your children.

Hello, my name is Liliane, but all the daycare staff and the children call me Lili. I am a Registered Early Childhood Education (RECE), graduated in 2019 at Algonquin College. As an ECE, I am following the Child-Centred Learning to observe, rationale, and design the curriculum. I also value the children's individuality and diversity, encouraging them to learn based on their curiosity and interests. This points are essential to respect Ontario's Pedagogy for Early years: "How does learning happen?" (2014). When my children grew up, I was missing being around young children so in 2013, I attended Queen of Angels and studied Early Childhood Education Assistant. I always wanted to work at Children's Castle Daycare and I'm excited to start my journey!
My long term goals are to eventually to back to school to get my Early Childhood Education Diploma and open my own daycare centre.
Hello, my name is Alissa and I started working at Children's Castle Daycare in November of 2017 as a supply teacher. I was then offered a full time teacher in the Toddler room. I love being around your children and teaching them while learning from them at the same time. I am so honoured to be a part of your child's life.
Hello, my name is Cailie and I started working at Children's Castle Daycare in January of 2019 as a supply teacher. Recently I have been promoted to being a full time teacher in the Toddler Room, and I am very excited as it is one of my favourite age groups. Hello! My name is Edem and I’ve been working at Children’s Castle Daycare since July 2018 in the Intermediate room. I graduated from Humber College North Campus in 2001. I started working at the YMCA in 2000, and in 2002 I had the opportunity to work with the Toronto First Duty where I had the chance to work with other educators to research and develop the full day kindergarten program for two and a half years. I came back to the YMCA in 2005 until 2015. I also had the opportunity to work with the Ottawa Catholic School Board for 2 years as a supply staff.
At this point in my career I have worked with all age groups from 0-12 and I don’t have a favourite age group because every child is unique and potential learner. My goal is to utilize my skills and qualifications to provide quality programs for the children and families through play.
Hi, my name is Vaneska! I am curently a second year student in the Early Childhood Education program at Algonquin College. I am finishing up my last placement and will be graduating soon. I enjoy working with children and very passionate about them. I am always smiling and love to sing and read
Hi my name is Hanan. In February 2012 I started working at Children’s Castle Daycare. I am currently attending Algonquin College studying Early Childhood Education.
The age group I enjoy working with the most is the infant group because whenever they start bumbling I just go with it and pretend I understand what they are trying to say.
My goal is to make children feel confident and safe in their environment while at daycare. Open communion with parents is also important. I will strive to make sure children are happy and enjoying their day at daycare with a variety of toys and learning activities.
Hi, my name is Olivia. I started working at Children's Castle Daycare in May 2016. I currently work as a floater in the morning and in the senior room when the school age children arrive off the bus in the afternoon.
Before working at the daycare I worked for four years at Jack Purcell Community Centre for the after school program and as a camp councilor during the summer for disabled adults and children.
I have formed many bonds with the children through my years working at the daycare. My favourite age to work with is preschool (intermediate room) as they are able to communicate but still learning about self care. I believe any child can accomplish anything even if it means doing it in a different way. I think patience and positive tone are the most important things to display when working with children.
My goal is to make sure every child feels as though they are in a positive environment and that they can trust me.
Hello! My name is Melissa, but most of my co-workers and students know me as Missy. I have been working with Children’s Castle Daycare since 2007. I returned back to work in February of 2015 after being on Maternity leave. I have a beautiful daughter who also attends the daycare.
For the majority of my time at Children’s Castle Daycare, I have worked with the School Age program. I enjoy this age because they are always teaching me new things and it is a nice alternative to having a toddler at home.
If you see me, please feel free to say hello and ask any questions regarding your children.
