Missy
My name is Melissa. I am a Registered Early Childhood Educator and graduated from Algonquin in 2009. I began working at Children’s Castle Daycare, in the Intermediate Room in June of 2009. I have also worked in the Toddler, Junior, Kindergarten, and School Age programs.
During my time here, I have formed a bond with numerous children of all ages. I enjoy every age group, but I really enjoy being able to connect with children ages three and up. My ultimate goal as a caretaker is to instill good values and to provide the children with various objects and lessons to allow them to learn through their play, and prepare them for their journey into kindergarten.
Hello,
My name is Missy. I currently work as the daycare kitchen cook, but most of you have probably seen me in all the classrooms at Children’s Castle Daycare at some point over the years helping all over the Centre. I took on the kitchen role and love being here, Cooking is my therapy! I enjoy being in the kitchen and seeing all the children happy when they love a meal I have cooked! Don’t be shy to pop your head in the kitchen if you are passing by and to say hello.

Hi!
My name is Alyssa and I’ve loved working/educating young children all my life. I have a 5-year-old daughter who is my world and the best thing in life is watching her grow and succeed. My passions in my classrooms are helping children see their greatest potential on their own, watching them learn important developmental skills through caring environments and positive relationships with educators and other the other children. I also love to nurture children’s curiosity, social skills and the love of learning through a positive, play based environment. I joined Children’s Castle Daycare as a full-time educator in the Toddler room in April 2022, graduated from the ECE course in April 2025 and will continue to utilize my many skills I learned through school in the way I teach the children in my classrooms. If you ever have any questions, please don’t hesitate to ask.
Hi, I’m Buthiena and I’m an assistant here at the daycare. I love drawing
and listening to music, and I enjoy weaving these into the activities I do with the children.
As a mother of three, I’ve seen firsthand how amazing it is to watch kids grow.
My time working in a children’s clinic made me realize how much I love being
around them. I’m planning to study Early Childhood Education to become even better at my job
and continue supporting the children’s growth and happiness.
Hello, my name is Uttara.
In 2015, I did my co-op placement at Children’s Castle Daycare, with all the different age groups. In September 2015, I became a supply teacher at the centre. I started my career as an ECE Assistant teacher for Junior room in June of 2016.
Before starting at Children’s Castle Daycare, I had experience in creating developmentally appropriate curriculum for pre-school and kindergarten children. I look forward to growing that experience here and I believe every child is unique and he or she needs individual attention for his or her potential development. I will be sure to do my best for the children.
Please do not hesitate to ask me any questions regarding your child or our program.

Hello, my name is Angela,
I started at Children’s Castle Daycare May 2023 in the Toddler Room. I am a mom of 5 daughters of my own.
The age group I get the most enjoyment is with the Toddlers because I get to see the enjoyment in their eyes when they are learning something new. I love working with all age groups, but the Toddlers is my go-to age group to work with. I love being able to come to work everyday and see the joyful smiles on the children’s faces. My future goal is to go back one day to school to get my
Early Childhood Education Certificate. Since I love working with children, I want to be able to further my learning in new ways to help them learn. If you have any questions just let me know 😊

My name is Heather and I have been working at Children’s Castle Daycare since June of 2008.
I have spent time working with each of the age groups we have at the center, and I find I enjoy working with the school age the best. There is something about this age group that is very refreshing for the mind. They teach me to slow down and see the world from a perspective other than my own. They are truly becoming young adults and seeing how they deal with the day to day is fascinating. It keeps me young! I used to work in the kitchen, making all kinds of yummy snacks and lunches!
I am now working in the Senior Room and I love being back in the classroom.
In the future, I would like to go back to school to get a degree that allows me to work towards helping children with mental health issues.
If you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to approach me at any time.
My name is Ashley and I have been working at Children’s Castle Daycare as an RECE since January 2012. I was an RECE in the Intermediate room until I had my daughter in January of 2016.
I returned from maternity leave, the end of January 2017, to the toddler room as the RECE. I am excited to start this new adventure with this new class. I expect that this new experience will be amazing in every way possible.
I am excited to watch the toddlers explore their environment and help them learn new things each and every day. Every child is unique and they all learn in different ways. I want to take a little of my experiences from the preschool room and some of my experiences of being a new mom and bring it together in my new class.
Being a new mom has opened my eyes even more, as it has given me a new perspective on the way children develop and learn. I want to bring all these new experiences with me and help each child succeed in their own time. As of Sept 2017 I started working in the office, it's a new experience and I get to help each class.
I look forward to coming to work every day as well as meeting you and your family.
Hello, my name is Kelly. I did my first placement for my ECE at Children’s Castle Daycare in the toddler room back in 2002. I started working with preschoolers full time at Children’s Castle Daycare in September 2004, after graduating the previous May from Algonquin College. During my time with the preschoolers, I often spent many days helping in the other classes as needed. I left Children’s Castle in June 2005 to work in preschool programs for the City of Ottawa. I expanded past preschool and gained experience working with children ages 2-16 in many different environments. I returned to Children’s Castle Daycare in February of 2007 and began working as the Program Supervisor that April.
Every age group has it’s pro’s and con’s so it is hard to pick just one I enjoy working with the most. My goal in this field is to nurture, educate every child in my care and to give them the best start in their life’s endeavors.
