My name is Melissa. I am a Registered Early Childhood Educator and graduated from Algonquin in 2009. I began working at Children’s Castle Daycare, in the Intermediate Room in June of 2009. I have also worked in the Toddler, Junior, Kindergarten, and School Age programs.
During my time here, I have formed a bond with numerous children of all ages. I enjoy every age group, but I really enjoy being able to connect with children ages three and up. My ultimate goal as a caretaker is to instill good values and to provide the children with various objects and lessons to allow them to learn through their play, and prepare them for their journey into kindergarten.
Bio coming soon
My name is Ashley and I have been working at Children’s Castle Daycare as an RECE since January 2012. I was an RECE in the Intermediate room until I had my daughter in January of 2016.
I returned from maternity leave, the end of January 2017, to the toddler room as the RECE. I am excited to start this new adventure with this new class. I expect that this new experience will be amazing in every way possible.
I am excited to watch the toddlers explore their environment and help them learn new things each and every day. Every child is unique and they all learn in different ways. I want to take a little of my experiences from the preschool room and some of my experiences of being a new mom and bring it together in my new class.
Being a new mom has opened my eyes even more, as it has given me a new perspective on the way children develop and learn. I want to bring all these new experiences with me and help each child succeed in their own time. As of Sept 2017 I started working in the office, it's a new experience and I get to help each class.
I look forward to coming to work every day as well as meeting you and your family.
Hello, my name is Kelly. I did my first placement for my ECE at Children’s Castle Daycare in the toddler room back in 2002. I started working with preschoolers full time at Children’s Castle Daycare in September 2004, after graduating the previous May from Algonquin College. During my time with the preschoolers, I often spent many days helping in the other classes as needed. I left Children’s Castle in June 2005 to work in preschool programs for the City of Ottawa. I expanded past preschool and gained experience working with children ages 2-16 in many different environments. I returned to Children’s Castle Daycare in February of 2007 and began working as the Program Supervisor that April.
Every age group has it’s pro’s and con’s so it is hard to pick just one I enjoy working with the most. My goal in this field is to nurture, educate every child in my care and to give them the best start in their life’s endeavors.
Hello my name is Tammy Chapman, I started working at Children’s Castle Daycare in January 2018 in the Toddler room. I have been working with children for many years and have always loved the field.
I first started off as a babysitter when I was 12, then as a stay at home mom which then I ran a home daycare while I raised my children.
I love reading and singing to your children. They love singing along and learning all the new songs.
Being a daycare provider is my dream job. I get to see their faces light up when they have accomplished a new skill and get to show me what they have learnt. It's a joy to see them smile with pride at being able to do their new task.
I look forward to working and learning with your children.
Hello, my name is Uttara.
In 2015, I did my co-op placement at Children’s Castle Daycare, with all the different age groups. In September 2015, I became a supply teacher at the centre. I started my career as an ECE Assistant teacher for Junior room in June of 2016.
Before starting at Children’s Castle Daycare, I had experience in creating developmentally appropriate curriculum for pre-school and kindergarten children. I look forward to growing that experience here and I believe every child is unique and he or she needs individual attention for his or her potential development. I will be sure to do my best for the children.
Please do not hesitate to ask me any questions regarding your child or our program.

Hi my name is Hanan. In February 2012 I started working at Children’s Castle Daycare. I am currently attending Algonquin College studying Early Childhood Education.
The age group I enjoy working with the most is the infant group because whenever they start bumbling I just go with it and pretend I understand what they are trying to say.
My goal is to make children feel confident and safe in their environment while at daycare. Open communion with parents is also important. I will strive to make sure children are happy and enjoying their day at daycare with a variety of toys and learning activities.
Hello, my name is Alissa and I started working at Children's Castle Daycare in November of 2017 as a supply teacher. I was then offered a full time teacher in the Toddler room. I used to attend Children's Castle Daycare when I was younger which is how I originally became interested in working here. I have also worked at St. Paul High School and volunteered at other high schools as well. My interests include self expression, music and children. I love being around your children and teaching them while learning from them at the same time. I am so honoured to be a part of your child's life.
My name is Liberty, I first started volunteering at Children's Castle Daycare when I was twelve years old. I am currently enrolled in the nursing program at St Lawrence College in Brockville. Hi, my name is Allie and I am recently new staff here at Children's Castle Daycare. I am looking forward in getting to know the children and help learn in different ways. Before I started working here I was working at an elementary school and it helped me decide what I wanted to do as my future career. I want to go to College to study Early Childhood Education to help me learn how to shape future generations.
Hello, my name is Rayan. I started working at Children's Castle Daycare in July 220. I have supplied in all the classrooms and I really enjoyed it as it gave me the opportunity to engage and interact with children of all ages.
I've been surrounded with children for a long time as I grew up in a house with a lot of siblings! I have volunteered in elementary schools, scouts and a youth club and I really enjoyed it as it gave me a sense of satisfaction to teach and show them new things everyday. I became a full-time around November and I'm currently a teacher's assistant in the Toddler Room!
I love working with toddlers as during this age their personality start to define and they have so much to teach me on a daily basis. If you have any inquiries about your child or anything else, please don't hesitate to ask me!
Hello, I am Regan working in the Junior Preschool classroom. I completed my ECE diploma in 2020 and worked in the Infants, Toddlers, Preschool, and Kindergarten program before coming to Children's Castle.
As a registered Early Years Educator I have enthusiasm, creativity, and approachability to build positive friendships with the children. In the classroom, I am constantly reminded that I am the role model for the children and have an attentive and responsible attitude. I am able to observe each child and provide age-appropriate individual needs through my professional skills. I also respect cultural differences and individual differences and will plan activities for children with inclusive teaching philosophy.
My aim is to provide the children with the most appropriate activities and to help them develop physically, cognitively, socially, linguistically, and emotionally. I also want them to feel a sense of belonging, safety, and happiness at daycare.
My name is Heather and I have been working at Children’s Castle Daycare since June of 2008.
I have spent time working with each of the age groups we have at the center, and I find I enjoy working with the school age the best. There is something about this age group that is very refreshing for the mind. They teach me to slow down and see the world from a perspective other than my own. They are truly becoming young adults and seeing how they deal with the day to day is fascinating. It keeps me young! I am currently working in the kitchen, making all kinds of yummy snacks and lunches!
In the future, I would like to go back to school to get a degree that allows me to work towards helping children with mental health issues.
If you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to approach me at any time.

Hello! My name is Kayla. I have been working at Children's Castle Daycare since January 2015. I graduated from the ECE program at Algonquin in June of 2015. I have supplied in all of the classrooms, but my favourite age group to work with is School Age. I like this age group because I get the chance to teach them new things and they teach me things about what interests them that I never knew before. Since I have been working in the Infant room for the past few years, they have become one of m favourite groups, they light up the room and everyday is a new opportunity for me to teach them something new.
My short term goal is to work with the Ottawa catholic School Board.
If you have any questions about your child, please do not hesitate to ask me!
Hello! My name is Melissa. I graduated from the Early Childhood Education program from Algonquin College in 2014. I am CPR/First Aid certified and I am also registered with the college of ECEs, making me an RECE.
I started working in the Senior room at Children’s Castle Daycare in June of 2014. Preschoolers are my favourite age group to work with so far because they are really developing their observation skills and are very curious and eager to explore and to learn more about how things work in the world around them. My goal as a teacher is to provide flexible activities for the children that are open ended and fun. I intend to base my activities on the developmental abilities and interests of all the children in my room.
I look forward to meeting each of you and working with your children.
Hello my name is Sheryn Fares, I started working at Children’s Castle Daycare since August 2019.
My goal is to build trust with my new little students and make sure they feel safe and enjoy their time at daycare. I really enjoy being around kids and helping them grow and build self-confidence and independence. It is very important to teach them the core skills that prepare them for kindergarten and beyond. This will help them adapt to new environments, and build healthy relationships with others.
If you see me around, please do not hesitate to ask me about your child. I’ll be more than willing to answer any doubts or questions
